Residents in the North Linen area were picking up the bill after vandals slashed the tires of nearly 30 vehicles overnight Wednesday.
The tires were slashed in an area bordered by Weber Road, East North Broadway Street, Cleveland Avenue and Medina Avenue.
Joe Miller said that he now has to fork over hundreds of dollars for new tires.
"It's really inconvenient. I don't know why, what their motive is. There may be up to 50 other people they did that to this morning," Miller said.
Some of the cars had as many as three tires slashed.
One man said that he had to call a neighbor who was on vacation to tell him that he was going to have to purchase new tires for his work truck.
Rick Daughtery said that he hoped police find the person or people responsible for the vandalism.
"It's a dirty shame," Daughtery said. "When they catch them, they ought to make them pay for it. They ought to be held accountable for the responsibility of the money part. Don't just throw them in jail and say it is over with. Make them pay for everybody's tires."
