Nearly 2 Dozen Arrested In Delaware County Drug Sweep

A Delaware County drug task force executed 27 drug-related search warrants and arrested nearly two dozen people on drug charges.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, the Law Enforcement Against Pushers Drug Task Force executed the warrants on Friday.

Among those arrested and charged were Antonio Barksdale, Donald Poindexter and Darnell Reaves, who were charged with multiple felony counts of trafficking cocaine.

“Arresting drug dealers will not eliminate the problem of illegal drugs in our community, but it will go toward holding the dealers accountable,” said Delaware County Sheriff Russell Martin. “Opiate abuse continues to plague our region; our Drug Task Force is working everyday to curb the consumption and importation of these dangerous poisons, but the task is far from complete.”
