Columbus police arrested one person in connection with a north side fatal shooting Friday evening.
Jeremiah C. Sanford, 26, was shot and killed in the 2500 block of Osceola Ave. shortly before 8 p.m. He was transported to Grant Medical Center where he died about an hour later.
Police arrested Eric D. Fields in connection with a shooting that took place on Osceloa Ave. shortly before 7 p.m. Fields, 21, is charged with murder.
With the help of Hilliard police, Fields who fled Columbus police, was taken into custody.
Columbus police said that they continued to search for one other person who they said fled the scene in a silver Chrysler Pacifica.
Anyone with information about the fatal shooting is asked to call Columbus police at 614-645-4730.
