Investigators said that the suspicious powder that prompted the evacuation of the Franklin County Opportunity Center building late Friday morning was not harmful.

Investigators said that a package filled with an unknown white powdery substance was found inside a dropbox at the building, located at 3723 South High St., prompting an investigation around 10:30 a.m.

According to investigators, when a worker brought the drop box into an office and opened the envelope, the powder spilled onto her lap.

The woman and two other people who were in the room during the incident were quarantined for a short time while investigators worked to identify the substance.

About 120 people were evacuated from the building, including 90 staff members.
