A father was arrested Thursday after police said that he led them on a chase while they investigated the suspicious death of his 4-year-old.
Police said that they responded to a report that a child was not breathing at a house, located in the 1200 block of Baytree Court, Thursday morning.
The child was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where the child was pronounced dead.
According to police, the father, identified as Alfred A. Hill, slipped out of the home and led police on a 10-minute foot chase.
Reynoldsburg police said that the man was wanted on strong arm rape, rape, and kidnapping charges in Columbus and Franklin County.
Detectives executed a search warrant at the man’s home, where they found several other children as well as the deceased child's aunt.
Neighbor Karen Early said that she spoke to a maintenance worker for the housing complex.
“He said he has seen the guy they were chasing,” Early said.
The man was arrested in a yard across the street.
