A building that houses sports equipment for a youth football league was set on fire.

Organizers of the league were trying to figure out how they would play the season after nearly half of the equipment burned.

Someone set fire to a building that housed all of the equipment for the London area boys football league on Monday.

The fire destroyed $20,000 worth of helmets, pads and other equipment.

League organizers say the fire devastated their young players.

"(I'm) pretty upset about what happened, but they know that we're going to get through this,” said Keith Smith.

Organizers said that they had received calls from all over Ohio from people wanting to help.

A London-area business planned to help the team purchase new equipment.
