Deputies said Tuesday that more than 20 vehicles were targeted by thieves in Orange Township.

Investigators said that most of the targeted car owners left doors unlocked, making them easy targets on Sunday morning.

Rick West said that he may have to add surveillance cameras and better lighting to the front of his home.

"You've got the center console in the Cadillac and of course everything was tossed out of that," West said. "They took what they wanted."

West said that when they were finished with his car, thieves went after the family van.

"They did not take my tire pressure gauge, so they must not be safe drivers," West said.

Deputies said that thieves ransacked 21 cars in the High Meadows and Green Meadows Village subdivisions.

"It surprised me to hear the number," victim Marcie Conkling said.

Conkling said that she knew something was wrong when she opened her car door.

"The loose change compartment on the left side of the Accord had been pulled out and was laying on the floor," Conkling said.

Investigators were working to identify the burglars.
