A Hardin County Municipal Court spokeswoman said Kevin Gibbs pleaded no contest Monday to aggravated menacing and got 32 hours of community service in lieu of two days in jail.
Witnesses told police that Gibbs, who is white, pointed a pistol at the ground and threatened a black man who confronted him March 24 in Mount Victory, about 50 miles northwest of Columbus. Gibbs was walking with a group of people, one of whom was dressed in a white KKK outfit.
Sheriff's officials said Gibbs had the gun legally but was wrong to pull it out during the confrontation.
