The Godown Dog Park is ready to open to the public, 10TV reported on Monday.

City leaders from Worthington and Columbus participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the park, located at 6099 Godown Rd.

Representatives from Worthington Organized Off-Leash Friends, or W.O.O.F., were also in attendance.

A grand opening is scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. with events happening Saturday and Sunday.

The 10-acre park consists of a one-acre small dog area, a divided four-and-a-half acre large dog area and also includes benches, a hydrant for filling water bowls, pathways winding through the park and a paved parking lot.

The park was actually supposed to open sooner, but was delayed because of wet weather earlier in the year.
