The Licking County coroner on Monday released the names of three people who died during last week’s heat wave.

The coroner said that all three people died of natural causes, but heat played a role in their deaths.

Larry Pierce, 72, Shirley Amos, 84, and Margaret Studer, 85, all died inside their homes, which lost power in last week’s wind and thunderstorms.

All three people had chronic heart or breathing problems, which were made worse by the heat.
