After three straight days with record-setting temperatures and 10 straight days with highs topping 90 degrees, we’re finally going to see some relief from the heat and humidity! A cold front is working across the state and will usher cooler and drier air into the region. It will still be very warm and muggy today—just not as bad as it has been. Highs will range from the mid 80s north of Columbus to the mid 90s south of Columbus. Scattered showers and storms will be possible throughout the day in central Ohio, but the best chances for rain today will be along the Ohio River.
In most cases, any rain should be out of the picture by this evening. We’ll enjoy partly cloudy skies Monday through Thursday with highs in the mid 80s and overnight lows in the low to mid 60s. Rain chances will return Friday and Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Alerts: HEAT ADVISORY in effect though this evening for central, southern and southeastern Ohio. SLIGHT RISK for severe thunderstorms today in extreme southern Ohio with damaging winds and hail being the biggest threats.
Inconvenient Weather: Scattered showers and storms will be possible throughout the day, especially across southern Ohio this afternoon and evening.
Planning Your Day: Look for a mix of clouds and sun with a 20% chance for a few showers and storms. Rain chances should be gone in most cases by the evening.
