Girl, 17, Caught In Crossfire Of Shootout

A teenage girl was hospitalized early Saturday morning after being caught in the crossfire of a shootout.

According to police, the victim, whose identity was not released, was walking along the 3000 block of East Moreland Dr. at about 2 a.m., when two groups of men began shooting at each other.

The girl was struck as she attempted to run away from the scene. She was hospitalized and expected to recover from her injuries.

Police said that several homes and vehicles were damaged during the shooting. Descriptions of those involved in the shooting were not immediately available.

The events leading to the shooting were under investigation.
