Deputies captured a 14-year-old boy who escaped from the North Central Ohio Rehabilitation Center on Saturday.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the boy’s family was visiting with him in an unsecured area of the building, located at 1440 Mount Vernon Ave., when the boy ran.

A witness saw the boy run to his mother’s vehicle, which then left the area.

Deputies caught up with the boy and his mother about four minutes later, along Pole Lane Road and East Fairground Street.

The boy, whose identity was not released, was transported to the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center.

Investigators questioned the boy and his mother. Charges were not immediately filed.
