Police were working to learn the identity of a man found beaten and bloody on the southeast side.
According to investigators, the man was found, near the 1200 block of Lockhurst Road, at about 5 a.m.
The victim, who suffered two wounds to the head, was hospitalized in critical condition.
A description of the man was not immediately available. The events leading to his injuries were under investigation.
