Hamilton Road reopened just before 7:00 p.m. Saturday night after being closed since last Friday's storms because of downed power poles and lines.
AEP crews worked around the clock to install new poles and restore power, 10TV's Danielle Elias reported.
More than a dozen poles along Hamilton road needed to be fixed.
Many residents along the road stocked up their fridge at a nearby drug store once the power was restored.
"We've been gone seven days, and I'm so glad to be back home," said Bernice Boyer. "I don't care how hot it is out here, I've got air conditioning now!"
The 120 men and women working on Hamilton Road were sent to Athens County to help restore power there.
All South Central Power customers are back online. AEP said that, as of Saturday evening, 90 percent of the 666,000 customers who lost power are back up.
AEP estimated having all customers restored by Sunday night.
