Two Columbus Men Charged With Abduction

Athens County Sheriff's deputies arrested two Columbus men after they allegedly robbed two Ohio University students at gunpoint Friday.

The Athens Police Department said two students were robbed at gunpoint around 5:30 p.m. at the Summit at Coates Run Apartments.

The alleged victims gave police a vehicle description.

Athens County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle matching the description on U.S. Route 33 near the Plains exit.
Two people were taken into custody.

Domeion I. Mayo and Adam Z. Lawson, both 24 years old, were arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of abduction.

Mayo and Lawson were jailed in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail.

The men will be arraigned Monday morning before an Athens County Municipal Judge.
