The Southeastern Ohio Correctional Facility donated 25 box fans to the Lancaster Red Cross chapter, 10TV News reported on Friday.
Rick Chuvalas, Deputy Warden of Operations, said the inmates run a doggie daycare. Facility employees pay them to watch their dogs.
They used money from that program to purchase the fans donated to the Red Cross chapter at 121 W. Mulberry in Lancaster.
Chuvalas said the facility has a reputation of being a good neighbor to Fairfield County, and that donations like this give the inmates a sense of accomplishment
