The Columbus Division of Police announced Friday that a sobriety checkpoint would be conducted on the west side.
The checkpoint will begin at 9 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday.
It will be conducted along the 3600 block of Sullivant Avenue, west of South Wilson Road. Advance publicity about the checkpoints serves as a deterrent, according to the task force.
Police said that they wanted to remind those who planned to consume alcohol to have a designated driver or make other transportation arrangements.
