Expect another day of sizzling temperatures ahead.
An excessive heat warning is in effect under a mix of sun and clouds. Doppler 10 meteorologist Mike Davis said to expect temperatures to reach 98 degrees.
Davis said that the heat index will reach 105-110 degrees on Thursday. The chance for pop-up storms will hold off until the evening hours.
Friday will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high temperature of 99 degrees.
Expect the weekend to kick off with mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 98 degrees on Saturday.
This oppressive weather pattern will linger until at least Saturday before a return to more seasonable weather early next week.
