Investigators offered a reward Wednesday for information in a months old vandalism case.

Surveillance video showed three vandals destroying property at Bishop Watterson High School, located at 99 East Cooke Rd., in April.

According to the video surveillance, vandals damaged a statue of the Virgin Mary and used a fire hydrant to smash a stained glass window at the Clintonville school. The two objects were damaged on the first day of Holy Week.

School officials said that it was disheartening for students to see the head and hands of the statue broken into pieces.

School officials said they hoped to replace the statue, which is worth $39,000, by the start of fall.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $2,000 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the people responsible for the vandalism.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477 or visit their Web site and e-mail a tip.
