A Waverly woman faced a felony robbery charge after police said she shoplifted from a store before threatening employees with a knife.

Ashley Vest was charged after police said she shoplifted from a Super Kmart store, The Chillicothe Gazette reported.

Investigators said that Vest would have faced a petty theft charge had she not threatened employees before running from the store, the newspaper reported.

Vest initially denied her identity when police found her, the newspaper reported. Police said that a knife was not found with Vest.
