Del-Co Water Co. Inc officials banned customers from watering their lawns during the recent heat wave on Thursday.
The company blamed the ban, which impacts 43,000 customers, on low water reservoir levels, 10TV’s Jason Frazer reported.
Mark Tennebaum said that he is hoping for a miraculous storm to drop rain on the area. He knows his wife will not be pleased with the ban as their plants suffer.
“It’s important to me, but more important to my wife,” Tennebaum said. “If I don’t water the trees and flowers, then I would be in a little trouble.”
Officials said that reservoir levels are lower than usual.
“We’re down to August levels and we’re not even in July yet,” said Glenn Marzluf Del-Co Water Co. Inc.
Marzulf said that he was concerned that if rain does not return to the region soon, the company will have trouble providing water to customers.
The water restriction is in place for Del-Co. Inc customers in Delaware and Morrow County until July 6.
