Davis said that an air quality alert was issued for Friday as temperatures climb toward 96 degrees. There will be a slight risk for severe storms in parts of western Ohio late Friday.
The heat wave will carry on through the weekend. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 96 degrees. Davis said to expect a 30 percent chance for pop-up showers.
Expect a chance for isolated thunderstorms on Sunday evening, with a high temperature of 94 degrees.
