Habitat for Humanity of Greater Columbus is expanding its service area to include Licking County, in addition to its current region of Franklin County, 10TV News reported on Thursday.

The change takes effect on July 1.

The Licking County Habitat charter is transferring to the Greater Columbus affiliate, which will change its name to Habitat for Humanity - MidOhio.

Service to Licking County families is to begin immediately.

Habitat for Humanity officials said that several former Licking County Habitat board members will serve on an advisory committee, but no other staff changes were announced.

The group also says that the Greater Columbus telephone numbers and locations will remain unchanged.
