A police officer was hospitalized early Thursday morning after his unmarked vehicle was struck by a 13-year-old driver.
According to investigators, the girl was driving alone along Interstate 70 east, between I-71 and south 18th Street, when she struck the officer’s vehicle at about 2:30 a.m.
The girl, whose identity was not immediately released, was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where she was treated and released. The officer was transported to Grant Medical Center as a precaution.
The identity of the officer was not immediately released. Investigators said that the girl would be cited. Charges were not immediately filed.
