A man was being held on $150,000 bond at the Licking County Jail after allegedly trying to run over a farmer, 10TV News reported on Tuesday.

Jerry Swoveland is charged with felonious assault after he and another man allegedly backed their SUV up to ammonia tanks on a Hebron farm.

The owner of the tanks confronted the men and called 911.

Investigators said that Swoveland got into his vehicle and struck the farmer, who flew up onto the SUV’s hood, 10TV News reported. The man was not seriously injured.

Swoveland stopped the vehicle and stayed at the scene until officers arrived. Another man ran away through a cornfield to Interstate 70, officers said.

Law enforcement officials were still searching for the other man connected to the alleged incident.

Swoveland faces other possible charges, including theft and possession of drug-making materials, 10TV News reported.
