A pro-life group kicked off a campaign using images of aborted fetuses on rolling billboards on Saturday.

Mark Harrington, executive director of Created Equal, in Columbus, said that the images are necessary because fetuses do not have voices of their own. He said that he hopes the mobile mission will force voters to pause and think about how they will cast their ballots in November, 10TV’s Ashleigh Barry reported.

“The images are graphic because abortion is graphic and you need a strong message to cut through a lot of the apathy out there,” Harrington said. “We want to elevate the issue to where we think it belongs.”

In a statement to 10TV, Kellie Copeland, with NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio said that the tour is “out of touch” with Ohio’s values and priorities.

Harrington said that Created Equal representatives will tour the rolling billboards every day until Nov. 6.
