Here's a thumbnail look at the Blue Jackets' selections, rounds 2 thru 7:
2ND ROUND
No. 31: OSCAR DANSK, G
Height: 6-3; Weight: 189; Catches: L
Last season: 28 games, 2.82 goals-against, .910 save percentage for Brynas (Sweden)
Skinny: The No. 2-ranked European goaltender, according to NHL's Central Scouting. ... Big, stretched-out goaltender, fitting the current trend in the NHL at that position. Is said to move rather fluidly for such a long player. ... Spent three years (2007-08 to 2009-10) at Shattuck St. Mary's in Minnesota. ... His stock soared last fall at the Ivan Hlinka Tournament, in which Sweden won a silver medal. ... One scout told The Hockey News: "He's played better internationally than he has with his club team, which is unusual. Big, mobile and he plays well in big games." ... Among European goaltenders, only Andrei Vasilevski -- drafted No. 19 by Tampa Bay on Friday -- was rated ahead of Dansk. ... The Hockey News had Dansk as its 44th-ranked prospect, ahead of first-round pick (Boston) Malcolm Subban (No. 48).
---
3RD ROUND
No. 62 JOONAS KORPISALO
Height: 6-2; Weight: 168; Catches: L
Last season: 38 games, 2.04 goals-against average, .920 save percentage with Jokerit (Finland)
Skinny: The No. 3-ranked European goaltender by NHL's Central Scouting. ... Korpisalo is the very definition of lanky. He's still growing, he said, probably another inch or two and 20-25 more pounds before he's done. ... Korpisalo played for Jokerit in Finland's junior league, but is unlear of his plans next season. He could return to Finland -- with Jokerit or another club -- or he could play in the Canadian junior system. No team currently holds his rights, he said. ... Had a .920 save percentage last season with Jokerit.
4TH ROUND
No. 95 Josh Anderson
Height: 6-1; Weight: 189; Shoots: L
Last season: 12 goals, 10 assists, 34 penalty minutes in 68 games with London (OHL)
Skinny: Did not show much offensive promise in his first year of major junior. ... Will likely fill out with the frame of a third-line player, which suggests the Blue Jackets like his defensive/checking game. ... Has shown a tendency to stand up for teammates and respond physically when challenged, but not a big PIMs collector and not a pure fighter. ... His mother is the cousin of NHL legend Frank Mahovlich, who has helped mentor Anderson early in his career.
6TH ROUND
No. 152 DANIEL ZAAR
Height: 5-11; Weight: 167; Shoots: R
Last season: 14 goals, 24 assists and 28 penalty minutes in 44 games with Rogle Jr. (Sweden)
Skinny: Swedish journalist Uffe Bodin reports Zaar has "a really good shot and good offensive instincts." ... Zaar was a teammate of defenseman Hampus Lindholm, who went No. 6 overall to Anaheim on Friday. ... Ranked No. 114 among European skaters by NHL Central Scouting.
7TH ROUND
No. 182 GIANLUCA CURCURUTO
Height: 6-0; Weight: 195; Shoots: L
Last season: 3 goals, 13 assists and 36 penalty minutes in 63 games with Sault Ste. Marie (OHL)
Skinny: Much was expected of Curcuruto heading into the 2011-12 season, but he had a disappointing year, taking a step backward offensively. ... At mid-season, he was ranked No. 148 among North American skaters, but dipped to No. 160 in the final rankings.
