Police announced Friday that that they will hold a sobriety checkpoint on the north side.
The checkpoint will be conducted along the 2700 block of North High Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday, 10TV News reported.
Advance publicity about the checkpoints serves as a deterrent, according to the task force.
Task force officials wanted to remind those who planned to consume alcohol to have a designated driver or make other transportation arrangements.
