Man Allegedly Attempts To Break Into Gas Station With Hammer

A man was taken into custody on Tuesday morning for allegedly attempting to break into a west side gas station with a hammer.

According to police, the man was caught attempting to break into the Sunoco gas station, located at 726 W. Broad St., at about 5 a.m.

Police were working to learn if the man in custody was also responsible for kicking the glass out of a door at the Family Dollar store, located at 629 Harrisburg Pike, at about 4:30 a.m., 10TV News reported.

The identity of the man in custody was not immediately released. It was not known if anything was taken from the store.
