The Ross County Sheriff warned residents on Tuesday about a potential scam.
According to The Chillicothe Gazette, a woman said she got a call from someone claiming to be from the Adena Medical Center, a Chillicothe hospital.
The woman said that she was asked for her birth date and social security number but did not give the caller information.
The call was under investigation.
Adena Medical Center officials told the woman that the hospital would never make calls soliciting personal information.
