Talks were under way on Monday for a potential plea deal for a woman accused in connection with her daughter-in-law’s slaying.
Sandra Inman, who pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, was in court on Monday after being found competent to stand trial for the kidnapping and strangulation of Summer Inman in March 2011.
Inman told the judge on Monday that she had been meeting regularly with her attorney, 10TV’s Maureen Kocot reported.
Prosecutors said that it was possible the two sides could reach a plea deal, but any deal would have to be agreed upon by Summer Inman’s family, Kocot reported.
Sandra Inman’s son, William Inman II, was convicted of aggravated murder and sentenced to life in prison with no chance for parole.
Inman’s husband, William Inman, is set to stand trial later this summer.
