Police were investigating an assault at a west side Steak 'n Shake restaurant that left a man in critical condition early Sunday.
It happened at about 2:57 a.m. at the Steak 'n Shake restaurant, located at 1700 Georgesville Square Dr., 10TV News reported.
Police identified the victim as Jared Collins.
According to investigators, Collins, 25, was at the restaurant with several friends when a dispute broke out with several other people inside, 10TV News reported.
During the confrontation, Collins was assaulted.
Collins was taken to the hospital in critical condition, 10TV News reported.
Police did not immediately make any arrests.
