Investigators said on Thursday that they recovered a vehicle believed to be used by a gunman and his victim from a shooting earlier this week.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, John Davis III and Timmy Stevens argued inside a car, parked along Riverview Road, at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said that Davis, 36, was shot in the head three times but he disappeared after the shooting.

According to the sheriff's office, a toddler was struck in the legs during the shooting. The toddler was hospitalized but was expected to recover.

The cause of the argument that led to the shooting was not immediately known.

Investigators said that Stevens should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Stevens, 39, or Davis is asked to contact the Morgan County Sheriff's Office at 740-962-4044.
