Several north side residents reported damage to their vehicles on Thursday morning.
Investigators discovered that at least 30 vehicles were targeted near Minerva Park at about 7 a.m., CrimeTracker 10’s Angela An reported.
Victims said that they found shots fired from a pellet gun inside the vehicles.
"At first thought, I thought they were trying to steal something out of my car specifically," victim Leonard Awuha said. "I looked down, there's other people's windows broken. I don't understand it."
Resident Randin Gilg said that he never got the chance to fix his first broken window from vandals, who went up his street two weeks ago striking more than 12 cars.
“He, there’s a hole in the plastic the since of a BB, so they don’t even care,” Gilg said. “They’re just shooting at everything.”
Police advised victims to file claims with the prosecutor's office. According to police, victims can file more charges once arrests are made.
Police said that they stopped a car containing several people overnight and issued two charges of criminal damaging. Officers would not say if a pellet gun was found, but they said there was enough evidence to file a summons, An reported.
