Police were searching for those responsible for shooting a man after getting off of a COTA bus, 10TV’s Justin Moss reported Thursday.

Jamar Brantly was on a COTA bus at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when one man out of a group of four men struck him with an open hand and then got off the bus, 10TV’s Justin Moss reported.

Police said that Brantly, 18, chased the person who struck him, following him off the bus. When Brantly got off the bus, one man, who police said was standing outside the bus during the incident, shot him.

It was not immediately known what led to the incident, which occurred near Cleveland and Myrtle avenues on the north side, Moss reported.

Bus surveillance video shows Brantly getting back on the bus after being shot. The bus driver headed for safety.

Brantly was transported to Grant Medical Center but was discharged on Thursday, Moss reported.

Detailed descriptions of the men being sought were not immediately available.
