Investigators took a woman into custody in connection with a shooting that occurred late Monday morning.

According to investigators, Dewayne Anderson was shot in the face at a house located on Tabilore Loop at about 11:30 a.m.

After Anderson was shot, he ran to a neighboring home to call for help, 10TV’s Tanisha Mallett reported.

Police said that the alleged shooter, identified as Deborah Cutajar, fled the scene and was later taken into custody near the Delaware-Franklin county line.

According to neighbors, Anderson had dated Cutajar, 44, on and off for a number of years.

Cutajar was charged on Monday afternoon with felonious assault, Mallett reported.

Neighbor Timon Dawson said that she was familiar with the woman, who used to live in the neighborhood. She said that Anderson had even asked her to keep an eye out for her.

“He didn’t say specifically, he just said he had some problems which was concerns that she was visiting the home when he wasn’t there, so that was really his main concern,” Dawson said.

Anderson was in critical condition at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
