Air Quality Alert Today, Chance For Showers Tonight

UPDATED: Sunday June 10, 2012 4:18 PM

High pressure will bring another round of sunshine and hot temperatures today with highs pushing 90 degrees.

An Air Quality Alert is in effect for Sunday, Doppler 10 meteorologist Josh Poland said. Delaware, Franklin, Knox, Madison, and Licking counties will likely experience ground-level ozone pollution levels that are unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Those with respiratory issues, the elderly, the young and other sensitive groups should avoid excessive time outdoors, Poland said.

The chance for showers and storms will return Sunday night, with temperatures falling to 66 degrees.

Scattered showers and storms will be possible Monday and Tuesday ahead of a cold front, Poland said.

Another area of high pressure will likely keep us dry Wednesday through Friday.
