Delaware County Commissioners announced their support for a proposed high voltage utility line in the county meant to deal with growth in the area, 10TV News reported on Thursday.

The line, which was proposed by First Energy corporation, would go from near the city of Delaware, through parts of the Union and Madison Counties.

The line would end more than 60 miles away near Springfield in Clark County, 10TV News reported.

A representative with First Energy said that the company’s preferred route would have the least amount of impact on the environment and homeowners.
