Crews were working on Wednesday to prepare a number of city pools slated to open this weekend.
John Gloyd, Columbus Aquatics Manager, said that four pools are scheduled to open on Sunday.
According to the city's Web site, the Dodge, Marion Franklin, Tuttle and Windsor pools will open on Sunday.
The Glenwood, Lincoln and Maryland pools are expected to open June 17.
Gloyd said that more pools are opening this year than in recent years to help residents beat the heat.
"Bring the kids out, bring the adults out," Gloyd said. It's a place to come and meet, enjoy the afternoon and have a place to cool off on the hot, humid days."
According to Gloyd, the Dodge pool will have a new look.
"It's a total renovation," Gloyd said. "We bulldozed the whole property and put in a new bath house, slides, play structures for the kids."
Those ages 6 and older are required to purchase $1 leisure cards. Children 5 and under are free, 10TV's Kurt Ludlow reported.
Gloyd said that the pools are a perfect place to enjoy the summer.
"You're looking at anything from 80 to 85 degree water," Gloyd said. "It's a nice place to dip your toes in, swim some laps, practice driving, whatever you need to do."
