Family members say the bull calf escaped from a Grove City farm.

A 650-pound Black Angus bull calf that got loose from a farm was found dead early Wednesday morning.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said that they received a call at about 1:30 a.m. that the bovine was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer along Interstate 71, near Hoover Road. The driver of the rig was not injured, 10TV News reported.

On Tuesday, Brian Lash, the calf’s owner, said that he purchased the calf from an auction. The bull escaped through an opening in a fence.

Investigators said that the calf belonged on the McDonald Farm, located along Grove City Road. The calf was spotted in several locations, including a Burger King restaurant, before it was killed, 10TV News reported.
