Police said on Monday that they charged two students who allegedly released 12 live chickens inside Westerville Central High School last week.
The incident took place Friday morning at about 8:45 a.m. in the main commons of the school, located at 7118 Mount Royal Ave., according to a police report obtained by 10TV News.
Nicholas Fout, 17, was charged with disorderly conduct and inducing panic, police said.
According to police, Fout and another student dressed in black and brought duffle bags with chickens into the commons.
District officials said that Fout released seven of the 12 chickens.
“They were hoping that the chickens would fly around and be crazy,” said student Barbra Mustard. “It didn’t happen. People started picking them up and showing them off.”
Police did not release the other student's name who was allegedly involved in the incident.
The chickens currently are at a staff member’s farm.
