Construction crews installed the final beam in the $1.1 billion expansion project at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center on Monday.
The topping off ceremony helped spotlight the changes coming to the medical center on the Ohio State University campus.
Expansion plans call for 276 additional beds in the new Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital.
There will also be 144 beds added to the new critical care center, and 40 beds added to the Ross Heart Hospital, 10TV News reported.
The medical center will also add 100,000 square feet of research space and plans to create 6,000 full-time jobs with the expansion.
