A New Albany Middle School eighth grader has gone Hollywood.
Cameron Fachman, an eighth-grader, will play a boy from District 12 in "The Hunger Games," which premieres midnight Friday morning.
Fachman, 14, was bitten by the acting bug at age 7, when he played a snake in a local play, 10TV's Glenn McEntyre reported.
"Hey, this is fun," Fachman said. "I like it. I want to do one of these again."
One role led to another, and last year, Fachman was asked to audition for a movie called "Artemis," McEntyre reported.
"I had just recently finished the book 'Hunger Games,' and I loved it. Loved it," Fachman said. "So they send me the script and I'm like, 'Wait, this looks familiar. These look like the characters from 'Hunger Games.'"
Fachman was cast in the role and traveled to North Caroline to film his first movie.
"We didn't know what to expect, because I've never done anything of this sort before," Fachman said. "This wasn't the stage. This was the big time. So, I was nervous. I was unsure. I was like, 'What's going to happen?'"
Fachman said that he planned to see the movie at midnight opening night.
"I just can't wait, because not only am I excited to see myself, but this is going to be an awesome movie, really. It's going to be great," Fachman said.
