Woman Struck, Killed While Riding Bike To Office For Developmentally Disabled

A woman was struck and killed while riding her bike on Monday morning.

According to investigators, Jean Dalton was riding her bike at the intersection of Lunbeck Road and South Bridge Street when she was struck, the impact causing her bike to split in half.

The driver who struck Dalton, 69, said that she ran a stop sign. The driver stopped at the scene, ONN's Denise Alex reported.

Investigators said that the Dalton was on her way to the local office for the developmentally disabled and that her bicycle was her only mode of transportation.

Dalton lived alone in Chillicothe, Alex reported. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
