Police said that a person was caught on camera digging through five layers of brick wall to enter a pawnshop on Monday morning.

Investigators entered Lev’s Pawn Shop, located at 2404 W. Broad St., at about 5:30 a.m. to find that a thief gained access to the building by entering an abandoned church next door, 10TV’s Tino Ramos reported.

Investigators said that the thief dug a hole through a wall the shop shared with the abandoned church.

Surveillance footage captured the thief entering the store through the hole and stealing a number of small electronic devices, Ramos reported.

“He was in the store for 20 seconds, grabbed some inexpensive cameras, broke a showcase and took his bag and somehow squeezed out of a little tiny hole,” store manager John Kinney said.

Store employees were taking inventory to determine exactly what was taken from the store and to assess the damages.

Kinney said that the cost to repair the wall will total more than what was stolen.
