Federal officials said Friday that the expansion of the Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University is expected to create nearly 15,000 jobs.

According to a progress report, the expansion will create nearly 5,000 construction jobs and 10,000 full time jobs by 2014.

The expansion is the largest construction project in university history. Improvements to the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute will be included.

Officials said that a $100 million grant through the Affordable Care Act will help fund the expansion.

Ohio State trustees voted to rename The Ohio State University Medical Center for Limited Brands founder and longtime university supporter Les Wexner.

Wexner has donated about $200 million to Ohio State and has helped raise hundreds of millions more.
