The family of a murdered west side man held a vigil Wednesday for a father who was shot to death in his sleep.

Christopher Carroll was shot and killed in November 2011 on Dana Avenue, 10TV’s Danielle Elias reported.

He was asleep when a stray bullet went through a wall and hit him.

“Seeing all that blood, I've never seen anything like that in my life,” Cindy Cox, Carroll’s fiancée, said. “And never thought I'd be one to see something like that.”

Carroll’s friends and family planned to hold a vigil each month until police caught the person who killed him.

“Not a day goes by that I don't cry for him and miss him, we all do,” Wilma Bevins, Carroll’s mother, said.

Columbus police have not been able to identify the shooter.
