Reynoldsburg police were investigating reports of counterfeit cash being used at businesses, 10TV News reported on Tuesday.

Police said that officials from two businesses on Taylor Road reported people trying to pay with fake money.

In one case, officers said that a woman tried to pay with a $100 bill.

When the clerk looked closer, she said that she noticed it was actually a $5 bill that had been washed with a $100 bill printed over the top.

Police said the shopper said that she did not know the bill was bogus and left.
