Home Health Aide Accused Of Trying To Arrange Sexual Encounter With Teen

A man was behind bars on Tuesday after being arrested for allegedly arranging a sexual encounter with an undercover officer who he thought was a teen girl.

Investigators said that Patrick Mahoney was arrested on Friday and charged with knowingly attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct.

Mahoney, 34, was scheduled to appear before a judge on Wednesday.

According to investigators, Mahoney was arrested after arranging a sexual encounter with an undercover officer who he thought was a 15-year-old girl.

When Mahoney was arrested, he possessed condoms, erectile dysfunction medication, lubricant, synthetic narcotics and other drug paraphernalia, investigators said.

A search of Mahoney’s laptop also uncovered child pornography, for which investigators said Mahoney would face additional charges.

The investigation into Mahoney was part of Operation Predator, a nationwide U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement initiative to protect children from sexual predators.
